Recalls

11-08-2005: 15,000 Hijet LCVs recalled for a safety-related inspection and possible repair. Covers all Hijet 1.0 litre, 1.2, 1.3 and 4WD variants and could take two hours to remedy. Daihatsu dealers asked to inspect the integrity of the front hub and spindle assembly, following concerns over the long-term durability of this assembly. In the event that the initial inspection identifies possible future concerns, the entire front hub, spindle bearing and seals will be replaced free of charge. Owners contacted directly by the UK distributor and invited to visit their nearest dealer for a quick inspection and repair if necessary. No reported accidents or injuries as a result of the defects.
