Alfa Romeo 8C (2008–2010)

Model History

March 2008

Stunningly gorgeous Alfa with styling cues from 1960s Guilia TZ but brought up to date and even better looking. 410bhp spercharged 4.3 Maserati V8 gives 190mph top speed and 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds.

Carbon fibre body. Production versions shown at Canary Wharf Motorexpo (June 2007), then Goodwood Festival of Speed (June 2007).

Only 500 built (Not 1,000 as originally thought) and only 42 for the UK delivered in early 2008, all pre-bought at £110,000 each, so if you want one, father and son are your men.

Production version of Alfa 8C Spider shown at March 2008 Geneva Motor Show.Same 4.7 litre V8 as in the 8C coupe produces 450bhp, channelled through 6-speed F1-style paddle shift gearbox to the rear wheels. Inside the carbon fibre cockpit, a dashboard-mounted button transforms the perfectly into a sublime open top GT cruiser.

Constructed from two layers of fabric, the roof creates a perfectly weatherproof, acoustically comfortable passenger environment. For added individuality, the roof can also be personalised in various colours to suit the body colour of the vehicle. Production of the Alfa 8C Spider limited to 500 units, and expected to sell out within weeks of being announced.
