Do cars registered before 1978 still need an MoT?
I've heard that cars registered before 1 January 1978 no longer need an MoT - is this right? The Government website doesn't seem to reflect this change.

Currently, cars built before 1/1/1960 don't need an MoT. From May 21, 2018, any classic car that has had its taxation class changed to Historic will no longer have to undertake an MoT test each year. So that means cars built before 1/1/1977 and this will continue on a rolling basis. From May 2018, cars built before 1/1/1978 will be both tax and MoT exempt.
