Why does the heater in my Triumph Spitfire blow cold air?

I have a problem with the heater on my Triumph Spitfire. When the heater is turned to 'hot', it starts to produce nice warm air into the cabin once the engine starts to warm up. However, once the engine is a full running temperature the heater then starts to blow cold air. What do you think the problem could be?

Have you back-flushed the system? Checking that it's free of debris and functioning as well can be is a good place to start - along with checking for leaks on the hoses. It could be an intermittent fault from a sticky heater valve, but it's probably most likely to be an air lock in the system. Run the car up to temperature with the radiator cap off and the heater on full - that should get the air out.
