Brake caliper failure on Honda Civic

I have a 2012 Honda Civic with 25,000 miles on the clock. The other day I went to my car only to find that it had rolled down my drive and into my garage door. I obviously thought I had forgotten to put the handbrake on, only to find that this was not the case. I took my car to my local Honda dealer to have a diagnosis that the rear brake calipers needed replacing at a cost of £859. I immediately refused this and they recontacted Honda and agreed to provide the parts free and the garage would fit them for £150. Should a car only four years old and with only 25,000 miles on the clock need new brake calipers? If so, should this not be classed as a vehicle defect and be done free of charge?
In 6-6-2012 we received a report of the previous model Civic that a reaction between the metal backing and the material of the rear brake pads causes excessive dust to be produced which then causes the rear callipers to seize, so you might have grounds to get that £150 back.
