Sold a van that has developed a fault - do I have to return their money?
Five weeks ago I sold my 10 year old Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, with 164,000 on the clock. This week end the new owner has contacted me to say that the cylinder head has cracked and its undriveable. They now want their money back. Where do I stand legally? The van seemed to be fine when I sold it.

You're probably fine. The purchaser might try to bring an action for breach of contract against you but as long as you can convince the judge that there was no problem you knew of when you sold the van you're in the clear. But if you had previously taken the van to a garage with this problem and the buyer uses this as evidence, then you could be held in breach of contract.
