Can you recommend a good resource for buying a classic car?

I’m retiring at the end of the year and my wife and I will be reducing to one car. I want to purchase a usable classic, which I can fiddle with and use purely for the fun of it. I’m not interested in rare or concourse models as I don’t want to go into a decline if it gets damaged. I want to be able to get ‘panels & parts’ without too much grief and I want it to be roadgoing when I purchase it. I will probably look for a 1950s or 60s machine preferably in the larger car category but I have no idea how best to search for one. Can you advise me please as I’d like to start looking soon to get calibrated?

There is good parts supply for standard British 'classics' such as MGBs, Triumph TRs, Triumph Stags, Morris Minors, etc. With saloons, parts supply is much more difficult. You end up spending more restoring and maintaining a car that rises in value by less.
