Old Mini with a tricky clutch

My Mini's clutch pedal is nice and smooth when the engine is off and engages gears with no issue. Bite point is fine, however once the engine is on the pedal feels a little judder/vibration (almost feels a little stiff) pressing or letting the pedal out. But as soon as I turn the engine off it feels fine again.

Was going to put it down to just it being an old car as i have only just got it. But wanted to get an opinion of what else it could possibly be and if it is a warning sign of a big failure?

Just replace the clutch. It's a half hour job on a Mini. Try Mr Clutch.
