How should I store my wheels and tyres whilst I have winter tyres and steel wheels fitted to my Volkswagen Jetta?

I am having steel wheels and winter tyres fitted to my Volkswagen Jetta. The winter tyres are Bridgestone 205/55 x 16 (same size as existing tyres). How should my existing alloy wheels and tyres be stored during the next few months? I am thinking about tyre pressures and whether they should be hung inside the garage, or stored in my garden shed. Will the same procedure apply to the winter set for the following eight months or so?

What I did was build a small loft into the integral garage of my house where the wheels and tyres could be stored in dry conditions out of direct sunlight. It's very important to thoroughly decontaminate your alloys before putting them away to help prevent oxidation.
