Keihin KS2 Carb service.

I have fitted a Keihin KS2 carb to an old 1600 VW. After standing for a long time when I started the car it was leaking petrol from the accerlerator pump. When I removed the carb I found the second stage was full of petrol above the butterfly. I have cleaned it up and it seems to be in good nick. What do I need to check before I reassemble? ie. float level etc?

Well given that it has been standing for a long time we would suggest that you overhaul/service the entire carb. ie gaskets/seals etc.
In addition it would seem that either the float is damaged or the float level needle is damaged/stuck.
