Do vans legally have to drive 10mph less than signposted speed limits on some roads?

Is it correct that the law states that speeds are 10mph less on some UK roads for vans? I don't see many comply, including myself, and I have 45+ years experience driving vans.

That's correct. Vans have lower speed limits in some areas. Namely 50mph on single carriageways and 60mph on dual carriageways. As with cars, the motorway limit for vans is 70mph.
