My father knocked down a neighbours wall - does he need to tell his insurers?
My elderly father reversed into his neighbour's wall, knocking it down. He drove on to where he was going and then spoke to the neighbours when he returned. The house is rented so my dad was thinking of contacting the landlord and then arranging for a brickie friend of his to rebuild the wall (subject to the landlord's agreement). Is he legally obliged to do anything else?

Under the road traffic act, he needs to contact his insurers, unless he has in writing that the landlord accepts his offer.
