Dirt Rally (PS4/Xbox One/PC) - £40

Back in the 1990s the Colin McRae Rally series was about as authentic as virtual sideways muddy driving action got, but it lost its way in recent years. Its spiritual successor, Dirt Rally, fixes the shortcomings of more recent rally titles, with challenging handling and a huge range of modern and classic cars to drive.

There are more than 70 rally stages, as well as rallycross circuits. If you want to go into real depth then the game also simulates rally team management, along with car upgrades, repairs and set ups for different surfaces and conditions. Dirt Rally is available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
