Well made and nice to drive, especially on motorway.

This was my second new shape skoda. Had the estate version first before I bought the hatch. The car is smooth and enjoyable to drive although the cruise control was not working when I bought the car. Skoda fixed it under warranty, apparently it had never been turned on from new or another software update had erased the function! We drove to Brittany in July and amazingly the car achieved over 70mpg at average speed of 58 on a 278 mile journey to Portsmouth. The car has been great but the biggest niggle has been a persistent annoying rattle from the back of the car driver side. I have tried everything to find it and it may be the rear seat belt mechanism. Another rattle started around the glove box catch but I've been able to fix it. I've noticed that skoda owners forums have noted the same problems with cruise control and various rattles on the early cars.
