A massive disappointment.

I can’t believe how much trouble I’ve had with this car, with the Renault dealers and Renault Customer Services!

The car was delivered to the wrong place at the wrong time. I was told it had enough petrol to get to the garage, it broke down on a bend in a dual carridgeway ½ a mile away. Filled it with 2 jerry cans before it would start. Then when I got to the garage I noticed the petrol cap said diesel when I had ordered a petrol! The place I bought it from said fill it up and run it for 5 mins and see what happens! I said no way! It ended up that the wrong sticker had been stuck on the petrol cap and I was told someone at the dealership had siphoned out the petrol as I should have had a full tank!

The car leaks from 6 places in the roof. It has been in and out of the garage, often for weeks at a time. The Renault dealers are always damaging the car, I have ended up with 17 scratches and 4 dents. The damage was so bad at one point that they had to replace the whole driver’s window! Renault have admitted to the damage and repaired it, but it has still caused me a lot of inconvenience and money as I have been unable to fit my nephews car seat into the hire car, so have ended up paying for the bus everyday. I have had to take the car back to the garage numerous times for clips that they have forgotten to put back in the car to keep the plastic interior in place. One time the banging above the interior light was so bad I think they left a tool in there! Of course I was only told that it needed a bit of oil! On another occasion I got the car back full of mud inside and out!

They have been unable to fix the leaks, Renault Customers Services are useless and don’t even answer any of my questions. I have been told by the dealership that it is a design fault and Renault doesn’t know how to fix it. Yet they have also told me that any water getting into the car could cause damage to the electronics and it needs to be fixed! I have been hitting my head against a brick wall for over 3 years now.

My sister had a Clio 10 years ago and had exactly the same problems, I thought that Renault might have improved since then but they have just got worse.

Along with the badly designed access to the headlight bulbs, and the access to the dipstick and no spare tire, I wouldn’t touch another Renault even it was free!
