Interesting Design - However is it What Car of 2014?

Nissan - Launched the 2014 Nissan Qashqai with an all new look, Designed in Paddington London, Engineered in Suffolk and Manufactured in Sunderland.

The adverts were bold with enthusiasm, I wanted one of these having done some research on specifications and consumptions, I chose the Nissan Qashqai 1.5Dci Acenta Premium with Metallic Ink Blue paintwork, standard 16" Alloys and Panoramic Glass Roof & 7" Satellite Navigation Bluetooth Hands Free Dab Radio/CD Console.

Delivered May 2014 - Looking at the car with the distinctive Ink Blue Metallic Paint we have a bold statement a car which people are going to look at from all angles.
Its sheer presence on the road, its a contender with the Audi Q3, Volvo XC 60 it has a wide body which is present on the road the detailing is great and the design feels up to date and classy with the day time running lights.

The Engine is fragile with a 1500cc producing 110 Bhp and 197 pound of torque a Max Speed of 110 (70) in the UK and a 0-62 in around 12 seconds, the book quotes 73.9Mpg I've seen an average run 57Mpg and a best of 62Mpg.

The Nissan has front and rear parking sensors as standard, which is a must as visibility isn't great when parking the Qashqai, the wing mirrors have integrated indicators also which are of good height.

The Interior - Cloth Anthrax Upholstery - I find the Drivers seat to be lacking support around the sides I like to feel snug in a drivers seat rather than have a couple of inches either side free, the position of the height adjustment is good as im 6ft 3" the instruments and interior are good however the SatNav console is to low and is also prone to sunlight bouncing of the screen.

The boot is particular spacious as is the interior and can seat 5 passengers all of 6ft - Ive experienced a few technical faults, the Airbox vibrating against the outside of the dashboard a couple of times, a flat tyre after 5K miles, and the Window Wipers Smear against the window.

I also have found that the Key Fob does not always link up with the On/Off Ignition Button and the Satnav console at one point had No sound whatsoever which was frustrating.e

The drive itself has been good in all weathers, the ride on the motorway is good with the added option of cruise control however wind noise on the drivers pillar is rather loud, and the sight of alignment is impaired with the on-board camera which sits in front of the rear view mirror.

Service is due shortly at 18K miles (Mine at 15500) fuel costs at the start were &77.00 for a full tank and a distance of 600 miles, with cost of fuel now £57.00 Insurance is Company Vehicle however for the extras I pay £50.00 per month.
The Satnav and Dab radio are faultless - Customer Services direct with Nissan were not very good, however after complaining Nissan franchise seem to be better.

Overall the Nissan QQ 2014 lives up to its expectations, however over the next coming years I would like to see some additional changes or I may move back to Audi or look at Volvo
