Smooth but Bland

Bought from Mercedes of Stevenage with 64k.
Went for Main Dealer as it came with their 1 yr warranty, but 6 wks later it suffered with flat battery that let me down a cpl of times, but they refused to replace it, even as a good will gesture as it was only a few weeks into my ownership and wanted nearly £100 just to plug it in to diagnostic!...bought a new heavy duty Bosch one for £125 and had no trouble since.
Car drives lovely, very smooth and pretty quick considering, handles like a canal boat tho!
Lots of safety features, and tons of space, in the rear for lugging dead bodies around.

Downsides are the real world mpg, which averages at 34mpg (i use an app each time i fill) and the old style command system with no anderoid auto/car play....i don't find the seat that comfy either, but maybe that's just me.
The standard stereo sound is c***, so if you can, go for one with the HK upgrade.

Good points are the way it drives, super smooth, although a bit bumpy on the 18 inch wheels, and surprisingly quick in a straight line....also the intelligent led lighting is a great option, very clever.

I noticed the car started to snatch when slowing down between 5th & 4th, and once again Mercedes didn't want to know...so their warranty promise is a joke.

Took it to 'Fergies' near reading, they have the kit available to 'megaflush' the autobox and completly flush it through with fresh oil until all the old is removed, they also reset all the adaption valves in the gearbox and it's smooth as silk now...and yes it had had the oil changed by Mercedes on a previous service!...i'm definately going to use these guys moving forward instead of Mercedes.

I think the car would benefit massively from a remap, i think Mercedes have it clamped so tight due to the emissions scandle that the perfomance and mpg are suffering hugely.
Also mine doesn't have a reverse camera (i thought they were a standard feature) which would really help as it's a big car...although the parktronic system is very good....you can get a genuine one retfo fitted but it's about £1000!

Overall a great car, but pretty vanilla compared to it's rivals, but the load lugging ability wins hands down

People who have been in it love it, say it is a very relaxing experience.
