Dodgy p/ex

We bought this x type from a dodgy dealer in Peterborough. We p/ex'd my wife's trusty Hyundai i10 which had done 100k trouble free miles, but was showing signs of a slipping clutch.
The Jag was up at £1300 and had covered 220,000 miles so I didnt expect a lot but even so, the engine management light was on within 10 miles.
Since then I have spent time trying to de-carbon the turbo variable vanes, eventually dismantling the turbo and cleaning it thoroughly before reassembling it.
I now realise the 'full service history' was almost certainly fake and was probably written in the book by the dodgy dealer when he aquired it.
Despite all this - when its going well its a very good car and I enjoy driving it. I love the fact that badge snobs think its r******, and it cost a fraction the price of its German rivals. Most of the time it runs perfectly (and economically), it has a great 6 speed manual box and excellent steering feel.
Despite enjoying it, it needs to go before something expensive fails so I will be trading it in for a diesel Lexus which will probably be just as nice to drive but 100x better build quality
