Surprisingly superb

We paid £6000 for this car and took a bit of a punt. Given it’s now 15yrs old and done 147,000miles, all I’ve done is put 1 full set of decent tyres on, replaced pads, discs and usual oil changes. Did the timing belt at 100k. Other than that, this car flies, it has been a real gem and economy is definitely in line with expectations. The only one consistent problem is the engine light coming on due to an exhaust gas error. The exhaust is on its way out now, but after clearing the codes, all is good. Overall, it’s a shame the car looks so dated. We’ve loved this car, so easy, so simple, sturdy and reliable, turn the key and go. I got rid of my Volvo S80 2007 because it was the worst car I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned a lot of used cars.
