Its great when it works

Dear HJ,

What a mistake it was buying a premium German brand over Japanese.

This is a very comfy car, quiet, smooth and very easy to drive. Bigger than expected...Pan sunroof is lovely with the electric sun blind. MMI and virtual cockpit are superb.

The fuel economy is pretty amazing for a rapid petrol estate. 40-50 MPG all the time. I dont do any urban driving and normally see mid to high forties. Its run on posh petrol as per your recommendations.

This is my first Audi, and my last Audi.

The car was purchased as an ex demo with 4000 miles on. Its now at 17,000 miles.

Failures to date:

Front break pads disintegrating. not covered under warranty. Paid under duress.

Air bag failure. repaired FOC...car of the road for a week

DSG hasstle. The car got stuck in park in someones drive! It needed a new gearbox ecu and selector module. This fault is still not fuilly resolved as from time to time you select reverse and the car moves forwards despite the display showing "R".

Audi UK wanted to tow an automatic locked in gear. This would have ruined the gearbox. This made a bad experience worse.

Faulty rear seat belt. Covered under warranty.

One rear shock leaking at 17,000miles. I have insisted that the pair are replaced (its a safety issue) and Audi are only warrantying one.

The car has been of the road for getting on for a month.

The dealer has been amazing, really helpful. Audi UK are challenging to deal with, and frankly arrogant in their expectation level that a customer should be patient.

Just like buying a British Leyland car...except expensive.

# Never Again.
