Print your own MoT certificate, with new and free DVSA online service

Lost or damaged MoT certificates can now be replaced for free, thanks to new online service that's been launched by the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

MoT centres issued over 630,000 replacement certificates in 2018, with car owners paying up to £10 for each copy. However, from today (9 May 2019), motorists can view, print and save any MoT certificate issued after 20 May 2018 by using the DVSA's free MoT replacement service.

Vehicle owners will need their vehicle registration number (numberplate) and the 11-digit reference number from the vehicle’s log book (V5C) to use the service, which supplies MoT certificate copies for cars, vans and motorcycles. Copies for lorries, buses and coaches will be available later in 2019.

Motorists who want to get their replacement MoT certificate from their local centre can still do so, but at a cost of £10 per copy.
