New Honda Jazz priced from £18,980

The new Honda Jazz is now available to order with prices starting from £18,980 - an increase of £3720 compared to its predecessor.

All models will be powered by a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain, capable of returning in excess of 62.0mpg while emitting 102g/km CO2, says Honda. Exact details are yet to be announced, but expect it to be a scaled-down version of the hybrid system used in the CR-V Hybrid.

UK specifications are also yet to be confirmed, but the entry-level SE model starts at £18,980, raising to £20,180 for the mid-level SE trim. The top-spec EX costs £21,380.

As well as the standard Jazz, there's also a rugged crossover-inspired Jazz Crosstar model, similar to the Ford Fiesta Active. This tops the range, costing £23,580 in Crosstar EX grade.

Orders are now open with deliveries expected from spring 2020.

What a massive price increase, what possible justification is there for such a rise. New cars are getting unaffordable for the masses.

Was thinking of replacing my 10 year old mk.2 Jazz with the new hybrid and was pleased with the test drive. I've always carried a space saver tyre / wheel, (essential on our roads I think where an inflation kit won't fix a sidewall puncture say) but there's no longer any space for one in the new model. I won't be buying.
