2018 Hyundai Santa Fe to start at £33,425

Published 02 July 2018

Hyundai has revealed prices and specifications of the all-new Santa Fe SUV ahead of it going on sale in the UK on 1 September.

The latest incarnation of Hyundai’s seven-seat SUV was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show 2018 and is a rival to the Skoda Kodiaq, Ford Edge and Kia Sorento.

There’s only one engine available in the UK: an upgraded version of the old 2.2-litre CRDi diesel producing 200PS. It comes with two- or four-wheel-drive and a choice of six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.

All models come with generous amount of kit as standard including roof rails, front and rear parking sensors with a rear view camera, privacy glass and dual zone climate control. The front seats are heated, while the infotainment system provides access to DAB radio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

A number of driver assist features are also standard, including cruise control, lane keep assist and autonomous emergency braking.

The entry-level two-wheel-drive SE costs £33,425 and features 17-inch alloy wheels, while choosing the eight-speed automatic transmission for a £2000 premium adds smart cruise control and an electronic parking brake.

Mid-range Premium trim starts at £36,425 and adds 18-inch alloys, keyless entry with engine start/stop button, LED headlights, heated steering wheel, electric front seats, leather seat facings and electrically operated tailgate.

There’s also an eight-inch touchscreen display with a Krell premium sound system, while additional safety features include rear occupancy alert which lets you know if you lock the car with a child or pet left in the vehicle. Handy.

Blind spot detection alerts you to vehicles passing either side of the car on the motorway, while additional brake assist (standard on the automatic) will counter steer if a possible collision is detected during a lane change manoeuvre.

Top-spec Premium SE starts at £41,495 and features 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats with drivers’ seat position memory function and head-up display. Further highlights include an around view monitor when the automatic transmission is specced, while the £300 Burgundy Pack adds two-tone burgundy and black leather seat facings, dashboard trim and a black suede headlining.

The new Santa Fe features fresh SUV design language introduced on the Kona crossover, which is available with a diesel engine from today. Prices for the Kona 1.6 CRDi start at £19,750 in SE trim and 115PS guise, rising to £24,750 for the Premium SE with the 136PS diesel engine and seven-speed automatic gearbox.
