Sharper styling for new Lexus RX

Published 20 April 2015

Lexus has revealed its new RX, which is due on sale in the UK in late 2015 and will cost from around £45,000. The new model shares its sharp styling with the smaller, cheaper NX model which went on sale in late 2014.

Two engines are coming to the UK - a 2.0-litre petrol and a 3.5-litre petrol-electric hybrid. The former is expected to produce around 225PS and will be linked to a six-speed automatic transmission, while the hybrid will use a familiar CVT automatic, like the outgoing Lexus RX. Power is set to be around 300PS.

Technology will include active safety gadgets like collision mitigating brakes and lane assist. UK cars will be available with F Sport styling, including large alloy wheels and an aggressive grille design. F Sport models also gain a sportier drive mode for the gearbox and adaptive suspension settings.
