Aston Martin has revised the Vanquish and the Rapide S with both getting a new Touchtronic III eight-speed automatic gearbox along with improvements in performance and fuel economy. The updated models are on sale now with the Vanquish priced at £192,995 and the Rapide S costing £147,950.

On the outside the Vanquish and Rapide S look the same, although there are new paint colours including a special colour, Diavalo Red, which was previously only available on the Aston Martin V12 Zagato. There is also a new ten-spoke forged alloy wheel design which comes in a range of finishes.

The real changes come under the skin and power has been boosted slightly with 576PS in the Vanquish - up from 573PS - and 560PS in the Rapide S, a 2PS increase. Thanks to the new gearbox, acceleration from 0-62mph is improved for both models with the Rapide S taking 4.4 seconds while the Vanquish covers the benchmark in just 3.8 seconds making it the quickest accelerating production Aston Martin ever. Emissions also drop and economy improves marginally.

Other changes include a revised steering system designed to give more response plus stiffer dampers both front and rear plus firmer rear suspension settings. The Rapide S also gets larger front brakes

Inside, there are new leather trim colour options including a blue-black Dark Knight, and Fandango Pink. The Rapide S is further available with a Duotone leather seat finish in Sahara Tan and Vibrant Red, as well as a range of new headlining options that mix quilting with leather or Alcantara.
