Kia announces Pro_Cee’d prices

Kia has announced its three door Pro_Cee’d model will cost from £17,495, and will be offered in two trim levels – S and SE. Two engines are available, a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel, the latter of which offers emissions as low as 100g/km. Transmission is a six-speed manual as standard, with a six speed dual-clutch auto offered as an option.

Performance is OK if not incredible – the 1.6 petrol has 135PS and can reach 121mph, while the diesel can hit 122mph and has 128PS. Acceleration depends on trim and gearbox, but the 1.6 petrol in SE trim is quickest, managing 0-62mph in 9.5 seconds, while the diesel can do it in 10.5 seconds.

S models come with 16-inch alloy wheels,  LED running lights, a leather trimmed steering wheel, parking sensors, cruise control, auto lights, air-con, USB connectivity and Bluetooth. Moving up to SE trim adds larger, 17-inch alloy wheels, power lumbar support, keyless entry and start, auto wipers and a 7-inch touchscreen system.

The starting price of £17,495 gets a Pro_Cee’d S with 1.6 petrol engine, and the top-of-the-range SE 1.6 diesel automatic will set you back £20,795. The Pro_Cee’d will eventually be sold in GT form, a sportier, more powerful version which you can read about here
