Volkswagen launches Touareg R-Line
Volkswagen has launched a sporty R-Line version of the big Touareg. Based on the Altitude version, the R-Line gets £4000 worth of equipment for an extra £750 with prices starting at £44,025 for the 3.0-litre TDI with 204PS. The more powerful 245PS version is priced at £45,645.
The extra equipment includes xenon headlights, LED rear lights, a full length panoramic electric sunroof, keyless entry and start plus an electric opening tailgate. On the outside there are 20-inch Tarragona alloy wheels, side skirts and distinctive front and rear bumpers.
Like all Touareg models, the R-Line also has leather upholstery, a satellite navigation and audio system with eight-inch full-colour touchscreen, DAB, Bluetooth, a multi-device interface for iPods, climate control and a stop/start system with battery regeneration.
Meanwhile Volkswagen has also lowered the price of the CC. Every version is now at least £470 cheaper meaning prices start at £24,050 on the road. The cost of the popular 2.0 TDI 140PS GT model has been cut even further and is now £1320 cheaper although the reason is the deletion of the previously standard ACC Adaptive Chassis Control which now becomes an £850 option. ACC remains standard on the 2.0 TDI 170 PS GT and 2.0 TSI 210 PS GT models.
