Hyundai i40 saloon pricing announced

The saloon version of Hyundai’s all-new i40 is to go on sale on January 5^th 2012, with prices starting from £17,395 on the road, rising to £24,895 for the top spec 1.7-litre diesel in Premium trim.

We’ve already driven the i40 Tourer, which impressed with high quality materials, clean, efficient engines and attractive styling. Traditionally, though, the saloon and hatchback versions of cars do better than the estate variants, so the saloon version of the i40 will be an important car for Hyundai, going head to head with the likes of the Ford Mondeo and Vauxhall Insignia.

To that end, Hyundai will provide generous levels of standard equipment and low emissions to keep road tax costs down for private buyers and BIK rates low for company car drivers. The 115PS 1.7-litre CRDi Blue Drive engine is the cleanest in the range, emitting 113g/km. The slightly more powerful 136PS Blue Drive model is also impressive when it comes to emissions, producing 119g/km. Insurance costs are low too – starting in group 12E.

Even the most basic models get 16 inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth, steering wheel mounted audio controls, electric mirrors and an electric parking brake. The mid-spec ‘style’ models are fitted with touch screen navigation, a rear view camera, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control and dual-zone climate control. Premium models feature leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof and keyless entry, with a selection of further cost options available.
