Fiat renews Panda engine line-up
The Fiat Panda now comes with Euro V compliant with improved fuel consumption and CO2 outputs. The 1.1-litre entry level engine is no more, and is replaced by a 1.2-litre engine with 69bhp.
That means a 0-62mph time of 13.4 seconds, a top speed of 101mph. Fiat quote 57.6mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of 113g/km, which places the car in band C for VED: tax discs will cost £30 per year.
The 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel produces 75bhp and can hit 62mph in 13.1 seconds. It’s also 2mph faster than the petrol.
More importantly it produces 109g/km of CO2 and can travel 67.3 combined cycle miles on a gallon of fuel. VED costs £20 per year.
The Panda with new 1.2-litre petrol engine has a starting price of £8,445, but at the time of writing it can be bought for £6,645 as part of a promotion.
The 1.3-litre diesel is only available in top-spec Dynamic trim, and costs £12,285.
Elena Bernardelli, marketing director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK and Ireland said: “The addition of the Euro 5 engine to the line-up makes the Panda an even more tempting choice for drivers looking to save on fuel costs and keep CO2 figures as low as possible.”
