New 2.0 JTDM-2 140bhp added to Giulietta range

Alfa Romeo has expanded the Giulietta range with the addition of a new 2.0 JTDM-2 140 bhp engine that offers low fuel consumption and strong performance. Impressively, the second generation MultiJet diesel unit averages a claimed 62.8mpg and emits 119g/km of CO2 but still accelerates from 0-62mph in 9.0 seconds.

With a 13% BIK (Benefit in Kind) rate, 40% tax bracket company car drivers will pay as little as £90 a month in company car tax for the Lusso version which costs £20,750 on the road while the Veloce model is priced at £22,050.

The new engine is equipped with the latest generation JTDM-2 MultiJet Common Rail system that is already present on the 1.6 JTDM-2 (105bhp) and the 2.0 JTDM-2 (170bhp) engines. The system represents the most technologically advanced solution for controlling high injection pressures (around 1600 bar) independently of engine RPM and quantity of fuel injected.

Combined with an electronically controlled variable geometry turbocharger, this provides 350Nm of torque at just 1750rpm (with the D.N.A. selector in Dynamic position) and 320Nm at 1500rpm (in Normal) - giving it the highest torque in its class compared to similarly efficient and powerful engines. The new engine is Euro 5 compliant and is equipped with DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and Start&Stop as standard. The 2.0 JTDM-2 140bhp has a long servicing interval and only needs servicing every 21,000 miles.
