Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014: Damon Hill to be reunited with title-winning Williams

Published 23 June 2014

Damon Hill will be reunited with his 1996 title-winning Williams at this summer’s Festival of Speed, as part of Goodwood’s huge display of classic and contemporary F1 Cars.

Hill, who won 21 grand prixs and secured 40 podium finishes with Williams, will be rolling back the years and taking the FW18 - powered by a Renault V10 - up Goodwood Hill. The 1996 Williams carried Hill to eight victories in 1996, making him the only son of a world champion to have won a world title.

Williams will be attending Goodwood to celebrate the Festival’s 2014 theme: ‘Addicted to Winning’ and will be fresh from its third and fourth place finish at the recent Austrian Grand Prix.

Williams is one of most decorated teams in Formula One, with 114 victories and nine constructors’ titles making it the third most-successful outfit in history. Damon Hill will be joined by Brazilian F1 driver and Austrian pole setter Felipe Massa, who returns to Goodwood for the first time since 2003. A modern Williams Racing F1 car will also be on display, situated in the F1 paddock.
