Published 19 June 2014

Alpina is to debut its B4 Bi-Turbo to the UK public for the first time at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Based on the 4 Series Coupe or Convertible, the B4 Bi-Turbo uses a tuned 3.0-litre straight six petrol engine producing 410PS and 600Nm. That makes it good for a 0-62mph sprint of 4.2 seconds in coupe form or 4.5 seconds in cabriolet form.

Despite being a high-performance petrol model, emissions are 177g/km and official economy is 37mpg. The coupe variant is priced from £58,950 while the cabriolet costs from £62,950. Standard gear includes an eight-speed automatic, daptive M Sport suspension, leather upholstery, electrically adjustable seats, sports styling and Alpina branding, plus 20-inch alloy wheels.

Alongside the B4 Bi-Turbo on the Goodwood stand will be the XD3, an upgraded version of the BMW X3 and the D3 Bi-Turbo, a twin-turbo diesel version of the 3 Series with a top speed of 172mph, 700Nm of torque and impressively low emissions of 139g/km.
