Geneva Motor Show 2016: Dacia unveils Essential limited edition Duster

Published 01 March 2016

Dacia has unveiled the first of what it says will become a series of high value limited edition models at the Geneva Motor Show 2016. Called the Duster Essential, it’s about as luxurious as a Dacia will ever get.

No word on pricing, but based on the few details we have, around £14,000 should do it, on sale imminently.

We do know that it features a new shade of brown paint (called Chestnut), new alloy wheel designs, body coloured bumpers, Bluetooth, a USB port, electric front windows and central locking.

Dacia says the limited editions will feature on all models (Duster, Sandero, Logan), and will “combine a smart look with enhanced travelling comfort.”

In addition, the company has announced it will now pair Easy-R with the dCi 90 diesel engine, Easy R being an automatic gearbox already available with the TCe 90 petrol unit. It’s an electro-mechanical auto, which means it won’t be as smooth as a torque convertor but offers fuel consumption akin to a manual.

Sadly, if you’re reading this in the UK the preceding paragraph is moot because Dacia has no plans to bring it to our market. But if you’re Dutch, crack on.
