Honest John's money saving deals from August
You can make big savings by shopping around. It doesn’t matter if you’re buying fuel, car insurance or booking a service, it pays to search the market and find the lowest deals.
Here’s our round up of the latest discounts to save you £££££s on everything from breakdown cover to new cars.
Friday 29 August
You can save up to £2000 a new Volkswagen Beetle, with prices now starting at £14,825. There’s also similar savings on the Cabriolet, with the range starting from £17,740.
Thursday 28 August
Mitsubishi has knocked £2000 off the entire L200 range, which means you can get a double cab 4Work model for £15,049, excluding VAT.
Wednesday 27 August
Citroen has discounted more than £2000 off the C3 list price. That means you can buy a new C3 from £8995 or a C3 Picasso for £11,075.
Tuesday 26 August
Subaru has reduced the price of the BRZ by £2500, which means the BRZ SE now costs £23,995, which is less than the entry level Toyota GT86. The BRZ SE Lux Automatic is available for £25,495 on-the-road, which is also great value for this fun and highly capable litre sports car.
Monday 25 August
Direct Line is offering new customers 10 per cent off car insurance. What’s more, if you go fully comp, you get vandalism cover as standard.
Friday 22 August
You can reduce the cost of parking by using Tesco Clubcard vouchers with Q-Park. Simply exchange £5 in vouchers and you'll receive £10 back in Q-Park tokens.
Thursday 21 August
You can get a SEAT Ibiza in Toca trim from £9995 (saving you £2875). The offer include a decent amount of standard kit, with sat nav, Bluetooth and 16-inch alloy wheels.
Wednesday 20 August
Skoda has reduced the price of the Fabia SE 1.2 69PS by 20 per cent. That equates to a saving of almost £3000, with air con, spare wheel, 15-inch allows and metallic paint all included as standard.
Tuesday 19 August
ATS Euromaster is offering apprentices a 10 per cent discount on all products and services. To claim, simply show your valid Apprentice Discount Card to the staff when you pay.
Monday 18 August
Britain’s supermarkets have gone to war over fuel prices, with ASDA, Sainsbury’s and Tesco announcing price cuts. The reductions will come into force on 19 August and see the cost of petrol fall by 2p per litre and diesel drop by 1p per litre.
Friday 15 August
UK Car Discount is offering as much as £7248 off brand new Renault models. Savings are available across the range, including on the popular Clio and Captur.
Thursday 14 August
Halfords is offering 10 per cent off everything from 12pm – 2pm today. The offer is limited to web orders only, but covers everything all of Halfords products.
Wednesday 13 August
Haynes is offing £5 off car manual subscriptions. That means you can get a lifetime subscription for a Vauxhall Astra petrol & diesel manual for just £25.
Tuesday 12 August
ATS Euromaster is giving away a free a Pirelli cabin bag when you buy four car, van and 4x4 tyres online or in-store. The offer is limited to Pirelli tyres only and is valid on all purchases until 31 August.
Monday 11 August
Halfords is offering a range of free car checks. That means you can have your air con, bulbs, wiper blades, oil and battery checked at no cost.
Friday 8 August
Volkswagen is offering one year of free insurance on various Up trim grades. The offer is for buyers aged over 21 taking a PCP offer through Volkswagen Solutions. There's also a £500 deposit contribution.
Thursday 7 August
Event Tyres is offering £10 off when you buy two or more tyres. Simply enter the code AUG-H402J at the checkout to see your discount applied.
Wednesday 6 August
UK Car Discount has a number of deals on the new 64 plate Toyota Yaris, with savings up to £3000. All cars come with 100,000 mile 5 Year warranty and delivery in mainland UK.
Tuesday 5 August
Green Flag is offing to beat AA and RAC renewal quotes by 50 per cent. To claim, simply provide a copy of your renewal notice from either the AA or RAC to prove your renewal price and level of cover.
Monday 4 August
Thinking of buying a new car? Ford is offering £500 off all EcoBoost models. To claim the saving, simply book a test drive with any 1.0-litre EcoBoost model.
