Asda to cut the price of petrol and diesel by 2p per litre

Asda has announced that it is cutting the cost of petrol and diesel by 2p per litre from tomorrow. It's the first indication that the falling oil price will be reflected on the forecourts.

The supermarket claims that from Tuesday morning, motorists won't pay more than 132.7p per litre for unleaded and 136.7p for diesel at any of its 188 filling stations.

Other supermarkets are expected to follow suit, though others often do not publish a maximum national price cap.
