Drivers 'should leave glove boxes open and empty'

Motorists keen to protect their cheap car insurance premiums may find advice from Greater Manchester Police can help.
The force has urged drivers to leave their glove boxes open when parking up.
It explained, by removing valuables and letting potential thieves see there is nothing worth stealing, drivers can cut their chances of being targeted by criminals.
Officers issued this advice after a series of vehicle break-ins across Manchester.
PC Andy Costello suggested there were other preventative measures motorists could take as well as leaving glove compartments empty and open.
He stated: "Satnavs seem to be the most desirable item, so please remove the cradles and wipe away sucker marks from windows to prevent cars from attracting thieves."
Officers will be offering additional crime prevention tips to residents in the Northern Quarter, Newton Heath and Ancoats areas of Manchester, where the latest spate of break-ins occurred.
Meanwhile, police warned motorists to expect delays in Saddleworth this weekend as a result of the Whit Friday Brass Band Contests.
