My 9 month old Grand C-Max suffered a windscreen chip today, which shows signs of cracking, so it may well need a new windscreen
I'm going to call out my insurer's approved windscreen repairer tomorrow, but the car has a heated windscreen and wiper sensors, which makes a replacement more complex.
i've read all sorts of horror stories about inferior non-OEM replacement screens being fitted by these 'preferred' companies, as well as problems caused to the electrics during fitting, and I want to make sure they do a decent job.
Am I within my rights to insist on exactly the same type of original Ford windscreen to be fitted if they decide I need a replacement?
As it's a few months until winter proper I'm also concerned that any faults with the heated screen might not show up until I need to use it a while later, when I'd have no chance to prove they fitted the screen incorrectly, or that it was faulty in the first place.
