Ford Focus 1.6 Ghia Auto - Exclamation Warning light coming on - wazza_

I am getting a orange exclamation mark warning light coming on as I'm driving along, I turn the engine off and it goes off and stays off, it then reappears randomly. I think it may having something to do with the gear box, on starting the car from cold, it seems to get stuck in 2nd and I have to excelerate harder to get it to change down. When the light is off it drives fine.
