Ford Monbdeo Ghia 1998cc - Car lighting electrical problem - maurellis

Hi,
I have a strange problem with my 1997 Ford Mondeo Ghia GX. 2.0 ltr. 147,000 miles.
When I turn on the lights I get a strong whirring noise. It stays on regardless of where I set the switch. And it can be heard above the engine noise. It is there with the engine running or not.
Any ideas please?

If you stand near the front of the car,I would guess the problem noise is coming from one or both of the headlights.Very likely to be the motorised h/light raise and lower system.hth
