I thought I would update this, as I haev had my problem fixed!
The problem, was the sensor had stuck to closed which was fixed by a mechanic who happened to be looking at my fault with more care. This is ensuring you have checked the blower motor actually works by running both 12V+ & - from the battery to either terminal on the blower fan.
Solution:
Using a 12v test (Prong type) with a crocodile end, push the prong into thick BROWN wire and touch the clip to any bare metal surfce (door pillar) and the short to earth clciked the sensor and my blowers came back to life.
This is not to say that it will work for everyone, but this had me foxed for a long time
