08 3.0 1 year old car - not used - service immedia - fleeble
Hi

I've just bought a 08 plate Chrysler 300C diesel which has only done 20 miles and was owned by Chrysler themselves. I'm guessing it was sitting in a dealership or a field for that length of time. It seems to run nicely but should I have it serviced now - change the oil , flter etc? Or will it be fine until its first service is due?

If it's a year old then it should be serviced to maintain the warranty if if the oil change intervals are up to 20k miles. With that mileage you can expect the brake disks to be rusty and out up with a grinding noise when braking.

Be careful changing the oil at such a low mileage. If the engine has a 'running in' oil and it is replaced with a fully synth oil then it *may* never run in properly and subsequently use oil all its life.
