96 2.5 intermittent injector light showing! - telecaster
Am having an intermittent problem with my BMW 325 tds.

Every so often the injector light on the dash will show....when this happens the car will lose power and pull back or stutter.

Changing down to a lower gear and increasing the revs always cures the problem and the light goes out.

Also if I dip the clutch the light goes out in a similar way and car drives normally.

Problem only happens maybe once or twice a week......Have changed the fuel filter to no avail....are we looking at a lifter pump on its last legs or an inector problem???????????

Any advice appreciated.

Did you ever get this problem sorted?

I have a 1995 325 tds with exactly the same problem...

Please advise what you did / how you solved this problem, as I want to know if I should cut my losses and run or if it's something that can be repaired 'fairly' easily.

Well, since I don't have a code reader - I thought I would post to see if the problem was solved easily with a quick fix of some sort.

Can you point me in the direction of a code reader for my early 1995 e36? I don't think it's OBD-II......

I Have had this problem letting revs drop to tick over then fault goes till next time.took car to specialist who condemned pump ,so went to a scrap yard and bought pump top 3 star screws and a special( hammer socket over it) remove top fit new top locating pin in coller nip screws start car car either starts or not if not tap pump top towards radiator ( screws fit in elongated holes) car will start if car revs to much tap pump top towards rear it's as easy as that
