00 1.4 Crank sensor - error code 16706 / P0322 - csgmart
I had the engn management light come on my Polo earlie this week. Today my BiL read the codes using the kit in the garage he works for. The error code was 16706 or P0322.

This is the crank speed sensor I believe. He had a quick look in the engine bay to see if we could spot where it is located but he couldn't find it.

Anyone one know which end of the engine the crank sensor is located?

Also rough cost of a new sensor?

I would guess this is a 16 valve engine,in which case the crank sensor is situated below the starter motor.in the same aperture.the starter will need to be removed for access.hth

Did you ever find out where the crankshaft position sensor is. I have exactly the same problem (error code P0322) on a VW Polo 2000 (engine code AUD) and need to know where the troublesome part is so that I can replace it
