the handbrake warning light keeps appearing randomly on my dashboard. 90% of the time it comes on is when I'm braking or in 1st gear, but every now and again it pops on for a few seconds when i'm on the motorway?
I have read a few topics on here and found it usually means that the brake fluid is low, however i have checked it and it is at maximum level.
Is it as simple as its just time to replace the brakes?
Cheers

if fluid is ok (be aware this does the clutch as well i think?)
and handbrake switch is ok
then its usually a faulty cap on the resevoir

Hi there.
All you need to do is undo the cap and pull out the little filter with your finger. You will find that this is stopping the brake fluid from running into the container thus triggering the warning light.
Top it up then replace the filter once you have cleaned it.

Now can you explain why my "bulb out" light flashes on every now and again (maybe once a week) when non of my bulbs are out?
