02 1.9 timing belt fitment, - diesel dad
hi,does anyone know or has any diagrams on how to fit a timing belt on a fiat stilo 1.9 jtd?..fiat want silly money for this job, i have ordered belt kit £110.belt,tensioner etc,.and also being a common rail system with a high pressure pump does the pump have to be "timed"?..haynes do not make a manual for this model,& i,m not giving fiat over £200 just to fit a timing belt....

Unless you have access to the special tools required I wouldnt attempt it yourself. The highpressure pump does not need aligning.
Book time for the job is about 1 1/2 hours.

He seems to think you don't need ANY tools. I had mine changed at a local garage. Combined with changing the alternator (apparently a pink fulffy dice of a job) the labour came to £110 inc VAT!
