Right im new to this forum got my car a few months ago i have always had this problem but recently itsa got worse


The car lock fine from the remote but i have to press button twice first unlocks drivers dooor then again to unlock rest,

but if i lock the car from the inside (via button on door) all doors lock fine but the drivers door will not unlock at all. All other doors unlock induvidualy from each other but the drivers door will not unlock. i am having to put the window down and put key in door lock to unlock my door (drivers)

any help would be great

Firstly, this is normal - it's a security feature that (for example) allows you to get into your car in a dark, dodgy car park without the need to unlock all the other doors (presumably to stop the possibility of someone else jumping in behind or beside you !)

That's an odd one - I had a few problems with my central locking over the years, but these were mainly around the use of the remote. My driver's door motor was dodgy which meant that my central locking wouldn't operate at all mostly using the remote, but the driver's door lock (and subsequent central locking) always worked fine when the key was used or when the inside button was pressed by hand.

When the car is deadlocked (two button presses on the remote) then no doors can be opened using the buttons inside - it sounds like your driver's door is acting like it's been deadlocked. It certainly sounds like a fault with either the drivers door motor or the inner catch/handle itself.

is this problem easy to fix like can i just get a new motor for door from scrappers and the catch handel can this be fix without need for new door?

Hi, I recently replaced my driver door c/l unit, its not too difficult. I got mine form a junk yard for £30.
