Vauxhall Vectra B facelift (1999 - 2002) - 01 2.0 EML Intermittent

01 2.0 EML Intermittent - samarkand
I have a Vectra 2ltr tdi on a 51 plate, thing is if i gun it the engine management light comes on and revs wont go over 2500rpm. If i stop turn the engine off and then restart it then it runs fine, it will go up to a ton no probs. this only happens if i gun the engine over say 3500-4000rpm.
Anyone got any ideas plaease

The ECU is switching into safe mode; get the fault-codes read to find out exactly why.

While they're reading them; get them to check the vacuum level from the services side of the vacuum pump.

Ok thanks for that, i take it i have to take a trip to a vauxhall garage then do i? sorry not mechanically minded at all.

Most garages will have access to the kit required to read the codes - and a vacuum gauge.
