A/c blower fan noise - easily solved ! - cheddar
Hello,

This might help others:

On Saturday the Mondeo's a/c blower fan sounded like an RR Merlin when cranked up to demist.

A new motor required I thought, dash out etc :-(

No, the glove box comes out in 1 min, a bit of trim below it in another two mins and the fan motor another two mins later, the fan is a basket vane fan it had a leaf caught in it, this must have been making the fan unbalanced, all is now well :-)

How did the leaf get there? The (newly fitted) pollen filter had come unclipped leaving a small gap, also easily recitfied.

saved yourself a few quid there and learnt something, although nowt wrong with the sound of a rr merlin sounds gorgeous!!

Wow a Merlin engined Mondeo there's an interesting engine combination. The prop could get in the way a bit though.
Mind you the massive door mirrors on our Note could probably provide a fair bit of lift if angled correctly.

Ha ha, I agree that there is nothing wrong with the sound of a Merlin, there's a time and a place though !
