Corsa C - milo/trip display doesn't show - steam man
Noticed that the milometer/trip LED display on the wife's 2003 Corsa is blank. As an MoT is due and a speedo reading is needed, is it a bulb that has gone, or is it more serious?

And how easy is instrument panel to remove?

Thanks

Can you see the mileage if you shine a torch on the display? If so, then the backlight for hte odometer has blown.

Below is a how2 on removing the speedo housing to change it.

The instructions are really for converting to LEDs. But it will give you the info you need to remove the housing. Remember NOT to switch the ignition on whilst the housing is out of the dash, or it'll be a trip to the dealer to have the airbag light reset (if fitted).

That aside, I think you'll find it's not an MOT failure if the speedo reading isn't displayed. They'll just put a comment "not displayed" or something like that on the certificate, IIRC.

as said speedo reading will not be an mot failure
will look dodgy on resale though if car done no miles in x years
