You can hire ozone generators which destroy the compounds which cause the smell, or use white vinegar from a cash and carry maybe in conjunction with a shampooer.
What did the valetor do just use a foam spray or something? You can hire machines to clean upholstery and carpets from Homebase.

Exchange the dog for a more environmentally clean one or just stop feeing it cheap tinned dog food. If I fed my last dog on 'Chappie' he became rocket propelled and hummed louder that songs of praise. If April Fools day over yet ot have I missed something. Regards Peter

No to be seriuos white vinegor 4 to 1 with water and an upholstery/carpet machine should help a lot. Also leave a baking tray in the car and sprinkle bi-carb of soda in it and leave overnight. Do not drive round with the tray in the car the fine white powder may find you showing with other in mates every morning. Regards Peter

Thanks for the suggestions. I must say that I had forgotten it was 1st April and my post was genuine! That said the mental image I have of rocket propelled dogs did make me chuckle!!
When I bought the car the interior was still quite damp as the valet had only just been done so I guess it was shampooed. I will try the bicarb first.
Thanks for the amusement!!

Febreze is like air fresheners, it merely "masks" smells for a while.
As suggested earlier, Neutrodol, Oust or similar actually kills the smell's source.
To get rid of the smells throughout the car (if you have A/C) set it to Recirculating + medium fan speed, spray the car's interior with Neutrodol or whatever your choice and leave the engine idling with the car doors closed for five or 10 minutes. It will kill any bacteria in the A/C system as well.

As minder of the famous FiFi, who being a black lab who likes to frollick in water filled ditches and roll in fox poo, I can say that it takes a long time to get rid of dog smells. In the hatch of the Ran is a neutradol sachet. It seems to do the trick most of the time,

Most supermarkets sell Neutradol products

we bought a Frontera and it stank. Nothing would shift it, we tried everything and eventually had to sell it. It smelt more in hot weather.

The Poundsaver type stores usually sell them even cheaper than Tesco, Morrison's etc - some currently have Neutradol aerosols with 33 per cent extra included for just 99p and the sachets for around the same price.
